My Commitment to Math
Every person deserves the chance to achieve his or her greatest academic and intellectual potentials. I tutor because I am driven to give my students that chance. I believe everyone should learn to do algebra. Algebra develops symbolic manipulation and abstract thinking, and opens the path to the sciences and higher mathematics.
In all of my tutoring experience - working at Duquesne University, earning work-study at Chatham College and Penn State, and performing online tutoring for Larson Text - I found a common theme in my students. Regardless of which math course they were currently enrolled, most were struggling in their classes because they needed help with algebra. If math is the language with which science is written, then algebra is the grammar of that language.
Now I am solely employed as a private tutor. I am fully committed to helping my student reach their full potentials.
