About Me

I was born in 1981 in Ridgway PA, what would later become the Chainsaw Carving Capital of the World. I enjoyed growing up on the edge of the Allegheny National Forest; at least, I enjoyed the hiking, mountain biking, and fall foliage, but the social and cultural aspects of the area left something to be desired.

I attended Chatham College after high school, taking in a diversity of fields including economics, communications, mathematics, political science and writing. I then took some time off to refine my interests and plans, during which time I ended up working for Honor the Earth on the White Earth Indian Reservation in MN. Then I finished college at Penn State Erie earning a BA in what is basically the science version of a liberal arts degree. The following fall I came back to Pittsburgh to attend graduate courses at Duquesne University, and I've been here ever since.

When I am not tutoring, I enjoy teaching myself html, (this website is an example of how far I've come), cooking, walking, playing Scrabble with my husband, and taking care of foster kittens for the Animal Rescue League of Western PA.
